Assess, Prioritize, and Plan Your Path Out of Spreadsheet Dependence
Most finance teams using NetSuite know they should be doing less in spreadsheets. The harder question is where to start, what to prioritize, and how to move processes into the system without disrupting a close cycle that already feels tight.
This session gives attendees a structured, repeatable framework for identifying which close processes are still living outside NetSuite, assessing the risk each one introduces, and building a phased migration plan that does not require a major systems project to get started.
Sean will walk through five common close areas where spreadsheet reliance creates the most risk:
- Prepaid Amortization
- Fixed Assets
- Cash Reconciliation
- Loan Amortization
- Transaction Uploads
Sean will also share specific patterns they have seen work across mid-marketand enterprise NetSuite environments. For each area, attendees will learn what the spreadsheet-dependent process typically looks like, where it breaks down, and what the in-system alternative actually involves day to day.
Attendees will leave with a completed self-assessment scorecard they can take back to their team, plus a clear framework for prioritizing which processes to move first based on risk, effort, and close-cycle impact.
